Zentrum Paul Klee Bern Founded by Maurice E. and Martha Müller and the heirs of Paul Klee

History

The initiative of building a museum in Bern dedicated to Paul Klee, thereby providing a suitable backdrop for the estate of Paul and Lily Klee, started with the grandson Alexander Klee. The project was given a clear outline by the conditions attached to the donation by the artist’s daughter-in-law, Livia Klee, of Paul Klee works to the city and canton of Bern. The location and the philosophical direction of a cultural center are thanks to the gifts and the vision of Prof. Dr. Maurice E. and Martha Müller-Lüthi.
